The way that we view school today through a COVID lens is untraditional and at times unconventional. The way students engage during a pandemic HAS to look different in order to learn. Masks up, several feet apart, and consistent hand washing are all protocols that have been put in place to protect our keiki (children), here in Hawaii. Even with these restrictions, some families feel unsafe sending their kids to school. Hence, why our school is offering a virtual classroom to students. Our school has made the changes to adapt to these times, even when we know that learning face to face is best. In order to provide a stimulating online learning environment for my young students, I would like to supply them with hands-on activities that help them be successful. Having manipulatives and tools that increase engagement at home will aid in their understanding of concepts across all subjects areas. It is with much encouragement that we want our kids to ENGAGE. We want to be sure every student has an opportunity to have a learning experience that is meaningful during this time where social-emotional awareness is at the forefront of our priorities. If you can give ALL these students this opportunity during virtual learning, they will thrive in excitement. Please help fund this effort to provide all my students; even those whose families cannot afford it- a time to engage with meaningful learning tools.
