Flexible seating has been on the rise of turning ordinary independent work time into extraordinary work time for students. Students who utilize flexible seating, such as the area rug and the exercise balls, will be better engaged in their learning and work time as every student enjoys time off from sitting in their usual desk chair. Making sure my students are comfortable, whether they are working in a small group with me (on the exercise balls), or in a whole group setting (on the area rug), is a priority of mine. Students become more engaged when they are given an opportunity to move out of their desks to an alternative seat (even if it's just to get the wiggles out!) I have noticed and done research on how flexible seating impacts a student's motivation and engagement, and having these items will help get me started on my journey with flexible seating and help us grow even more!
