Students need to know that they are not alone in their battles with racism, ignorance, intolerance, and misunderstanding. Students need to know that they, too, can survive and thrive. They also need to understand and experience, even if only through stories, behaviors and attitudes that hurt others so that they can be more aware of their own behaviors and attitudes. These stories will help the students give voice to their own experiences and perspectives. They will be a vehicle for our class to have a safe, open and empowering dialogue.

About my class
