Our school is home to a large population of multilingual students from the Asia/Pacific region. My students range from newcomers to students who have immigrated within the last few years. Our EL teachers will use these books to incorporate their culture into writing lessons and these books will be used in other various assignments. Providing literature in their classrooms that represent their culture connects them to our school and helps provide a sense of belonging. By donating, you are helping to show our EL students that their own stories are worthy of being celebrated.
