This project will help my students to develop their character, build relationships, improve on academics, and support a growth mindset (perseverance and endurance) through purposeful play. Play is a necessity and not a luxury. Play is so important for my students. Play is not only for fun, but helps students improve their social-emotional skills, communication skills, academic skills, and help to support a healthy growth mindset. My students will utilize the materials for purposeful play to develop their skills, practice Kindergarten concepts, and learn problem solving/ critical thinking strategies. These materials will also engage my students into learning in a new way after a Covid year of learning or a year of limited interaction. Having a variety of materials accessible to my students will support multiple learning styles and various types of play, while ensuring my students can learn and play safely in this Covid world.
