I am requesting headphones, ear muffs, sentence strips, privacy boards, index cards, computer mouse, highlighters and more. Education should not be one size fits all. Every student has something valuable bring to the table, sometimes they just need a little support to get there, or discover that that is. These materials will help support student learning by meeting them where they are. All students deserve a learning environment that is as diverse as they are. Student learning styles, strengths, and support strategies are as unique as the individual. It is my goal to provide as many tools as I can to help students be effective and successful learners. Tools like sentence strips, index cards, and highlighters help with reading comprehension and processing - an essential tool when studying primary source documents. Privacy folders, fidgets, and ear muffs help students focus and give them confidence when working on performance assessments. Technology supports like headphones and computer mouses help students utilize technology efficiently. Individual white boards allow all students to engage in questioning and practice during whole and small group instruction. All of these resources help students become confident learners by supporting skills such as good study habits and test taking strategies.
