My students have moderate to severe disabilities. Many of the families are low income. This makes bringing a snack to school very hard on the families. In my classroom I provide snack in the middle of the day and at the end of the day to insure my students have enough energy to be able to learn the best they can. A variety of snacks helps because special needs students are picky and sometimes we need to switch it up. This would benefit not only my class but my students families too.
