As an educator of color who serves a predominately BIPOC community, my goal is to make sure my students feel represented in the classroom. I am very intentional about ensuring that everything in the classroom, from curricula to our activities, is inclusive and provides students with the opportunity to learn about each other. As a first-year teacher, I do not yet have the finances to provide the diverse and inclusive library my students deserve. The books on this list will be used in our classroom. They will be incorporated into lessons and accessible for students to read during their independent reading time. Would you please help me provide this gift to my students? Thank you!
