The new soft, happy-face carpet—along with the SEL, math, and literacy resources—has completely transformed our space.\r\nWhen my students first walked in and saw the bright, smiling faces on the carpet, they exploded with excitement. Many of them immediately sat down, ran their hands over the soft fabric, and said things like, \"It's so comfy!\" and \"This is our new meeting spot!\" It has quickly become the center of our day—where we gather for morning meetings, read-alouds, partner talks, and SEL lessons. Having such a cozy place to sit has helped even my most energetic students settle in and feel calm.\r\nOne special moment happened during our SEL lesson last week. Each student sat on a happy face as we talked about identifying feelings and sharing kind words. The cheerful carpet helped create a safe, joyful environment, and several students who are usually shy volunteered to speak. It was truly heartwarming.\r\nThe new math and literacy materials have also helped make our centers more engaging and hands-on. Students are practicing skills with confidence and excitement because the tools are inviting and accessible.\r\nOur next steps include a storytelling project where students will gather on the carpet to brainstorm characters and settings. We'll use the new literacy tools to bring their stories to life.\r\nThank you again for supporting our classroom. Your kindness has made our space brighter, softer, and happier—just like the carpet itself.\r\nWith gratitude,\r\nMs. Tracy","fullyFundedDate":1755548307892,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-bright-beginning-a-welcoming/9602412/","projectTitle":"Building a Bright Beginning: A Welcoming Classroom for Transitional Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tracy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10031003_orig.jpg?crop=240,240,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755280185793","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10031003"},{"teacherId":9829875,"projectId":9005703,"letterContent":"On behalf of our scholars, families, and school community, I want to say thank you for your donation that made it possible for us to have new and reliable headphones for our classroom! Your gift has made a meaningful impact on both teaching and learning for scholars! \r\n\r\nWhile many of you may use tech at home for personal use, it is an essential tool for scholar learning. Without headphones, it can become a distraction instead of a tool. The headphones allow scholars to focus on individualized lessons without the distraction, giving them a change to learn at their own pace. This allows time for myself to pull scholars into small groups and help advance learning for all. Whether it's practicing phonics, improving reading fluency, listening to stories, or working through math challenges, scholars now have the ability to engage with their learning in a way that is personalized and effective. \r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for our scholars is the sense of independence the headphones bring. They love being able to \"tune in\" to their learning and feel ownership over their progress. It makes learning feel like an adventure! \r\n\r\nWe have had two scholars in particular who have used these headphones to focus in the busy classroom. Focusing had been a struggle for these scholars, and they found that using the headphones allowed them to stay engaged longer and complete their work with confidence! \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generosity and kindness. We are so grateful for your support and with a new school year starting, more and more scholars will be able to use your donation to have a the tools that they need to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1743013054479,"projectUrl":"project/enhance-learning-with-dependable-headpho/9005703/","projectTitle":"Enhance Learning with Dependable Headphones: A Tool for Every Student","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Roldan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9829875_orig.jpg?crop=956,956,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734119623616","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9829875"},{"teacherId":9083449,"projectId":9264045,"letterContent":"I want to sincerely thank you for your generous contribution to our project. The kitchen and farm stand have become central hubs of activity and learning in our classroom. The children are now engaging in imaginative play that fosters collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. They used the farm stand to \"sell\" fruits and vegetables, and the kitchen area to \"cook\" meals with their produce. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your incredible generosity in supporting our classroom. Thanks to your donations, my students and I have experienced a transformative year filled with learning, growth, and opportunities we wouldn't have had otherwise.\r\n\r\nYour contributions have provided us with essential tools and resources that have profoundly impacted our day-to-day classroom experience:\r\n\r\nHeadphones that have helped students better focus during independent learning tasks.\r\nPencil pouches and school supplies that have enabled students to stay organized and ready to learn.\r\nOrganizer bins and whiteboards that have created a more structured, engaging, and interactive learning environment for all.\r\nSnacks that fueled an exciting and educational classroom economy project, where students practiced financial literacy by pricing food, running the store, designing their own currency, and keeping the system organized.\r\nAs a first-year teacher starting with very little, your support has meant the world to me. You turned what began as an empty room into a vibrant, resource-rich space where students can thrive. Your generosity has not only made my first-year teaching more successful but has also created systems and opportunities that we will carry forward for years to come.\r\n\r\nPlease know that the impact of your kindness extends far beyond these walls—it has empowered students to grow academically, practice essential life skills, and enjoy learning in ways that wouldn't have been possible without you.\r\n\r\nThank you, from the bottom of my heart, for investing in our classroom and our future.
