As a first-year teacher, you could walk into an empty classroom that you have to build up from scratch or a classroom full of things leftover from the previous teacher. I had the privilege of the latter! My classroom was already filled with lots of things that are going to aid in the success of my students, except a classroom rug. A classroom rug can play a vital role in the classroom. It can be a place to gather for morning meetings, whole group instruction, a read-aloud area, and so much more. It's my favorite area in the classroom because it's the place where we come together as a community to share our thoughts, ideas, and new learning!
