The use of a variety of hands-on materials occurs daily in the Speech-Language Therapy Room. My room is a lively and colorful space that focuses on the ability rather than the disability of all students. My students benefit from tangible experiences and work on many different aspects of language - pronouns, prepositions, and verbs just to name a few. By donating to this project, these materials will help my students to learn and work hard without even realizing how hard they are working. Many of the students in the population I work with have difficulty sustaining their attention to tasks, especially when the task is seemingly challenging. These items will help to increase student motivation, focus, and attention to benefit their academic achievement.
