My students need to be able to move around and have flexible learning spaces and carpets in the classroom allow for that. The rectangular rug will allow the students to work in multiple spaces without getting into each others personal spaces by sitting in their own square while as a whole class or in small groups. This will also create a more inviting environment for students to learn. The round rug will be used for daily community/family meetings in our own classroom. This will allows us to create comfortable, safe spaces for students to learn and build social skills.
