A lot of the times when students sign up for band, parents don't realize all the extras that go into playing an instrument. I want to make sure that all my students have an opportunity to be a part of band without being stressed over having reeds, valve/slide oil, neck straps, cork grease, etc. My hope is to get funding for these "band extras" so parents don't have to worry about purchasing these items, especially during these unprecedented times. Without these "band extras," students won't be able to play their instrument effectively, which can be frustrating when a student is practicing at home or having a lesson with me. Renting an instrument can already be a financial burden for parents, so I hope to relieve stress by providing my students with these instrument accessories when they need them. Since I loan out instruments to students who come from low income households, I want to be able to provide them with the basic needs that come with playing an instrument. Without these "band extras," they won't be able to play their instrument in band.
