Before our school closed in March 2020, my students tye-dyed shibori scarves while learning about Japanese art. Because of the lockdown, students were unable to finish their scarves. When we finally returned in person, I traveled to each classroom on a cart using minimal supplies. On March 29, 2021, we are going to resume Art in the ART ROOM for the first time in a whole year! These supplies will give my students the opportunity to complete their shibori scarves while learning the basics of hand-stitching. My plan is to repurpose their scarves into pillows. Each student will be able to create a hand-sewn shibori pillow. As students are switching to in-person learning and new students arrive, these new sharpies will help ensure that each student at Bailey Elementary will have a personal sharpie to use during Art class and to take home at the end of the year. Each student has been given a sharpie to use while I was teaching on a cart. Please consider supporting my sweet students. They are so excited to return to the Art Room! Thank you.
