This self-care station will give students the opportunity to take care of most hygiene needs that may arise during the school day or that they may not have access to at home. Students spend a good portion of their day in the school building and a variety of hygiene-related issues can arise in a 7-8 hour time span. This self-care station will give students the resources and autonomy to take care of such hygiene-related issues as well as take home things they may need. To the best of my ability, I want to provide as many resources for students as possible to feel as comfortable as they can. Resources/materials funded by this project include soap, deodorant, pads, tampons, tissues, lotion, cleansing wipes, stain remover sticks, mini toothbrushes, first aid kit, chewing gum, breath mints, fruit snacks/candy. The more comfortable a student feels, the more willing they will likely be to actively participate in learning throughout the day.
