It pains me to see so many adults not read, and it pains me even more seeing so many of my students not enjoy reading because I know they will be one of the adults that don't either. I want to help stop this trend by providing class time every day for the students to read. They can read for enjoyment, but also for a more profound reason. You cannot think about anything you don't have the words for; that to me is why reading is so important. Reading helps with their vocabulary. I have a large amount of English language learners and low readers. Limiting their vocabulary and ability to think about the world around them! Please help me bridge this gap so they can begin to think critically about what they see.
