During this pandemic, many of us are working at home. How often do you need to get up and move after sitting at your desk, table, office? Often, right? Even if it's just for a minute. That minute of movement helps your mind take a break and restart when you return to work. It is estimated that you get 3-5 minutes of attention per year of life in the PERFECT condition. No distractions, no friends beside you, no nothing. That would mean that my 10 and 11 year old 5th graders are only focused (in the PERFECT conditions) for about 30 minutes. We hardly have perfect conditions. Wobble chairs improve posture, increase attention spans, and let students move....without really getting up and moving. If students can move while lessons are going on, attention spans will increase. Focus will increase. Grades will increase.
