The items that I am requesting are to encourage movement while learning in the classroom. My students are 6/ 7 years old and filled with energy! I believe that providing them with flexible seating will encourage a healthy and more productive atmosphere for the students. Kids are not meant to sit at a desk for 8 hours a day straight. With all the parameters existing due to the pandemic, we cannot allow them to get into small groups, share a reading corner, or even get on the carpet together. The desk straps will allow them to move and get their energy out by bouncing their feet /legs while in their seat. Many of my students would benefit from just this slight movement. The carpet squares will allow them to move around the room or even sit by their desk and maintain their own personal space. I believe adding flexible seating and bounce desk straps will be a great addition to the classroom.
