This project is solely focused on providing my students with the flexible seating they deserve in order to encourage reading. At the moment my students lay on the floor and take turns on a small carpet in our classroom. My goal is to essentially build a paradise where they can truly submerge themselves in the book with the help of our classroom environment. Many of my students come from difficult/low-income backgrounds, therefore being able to provide that paradise away from home would truly mean the world. By donating to our classroom family, you will be providing my students with the luxury of flexible seating in efforts to improve reading stamina. These seats would also be extremely beneficial for my hyperactive students who struggle to get comfortable in a regular desk chair. Most of my students choose to sit on the floor during reading time and I want to be able to change that with the support of the community. I can guarantee you my students are amazing individuals who work hard and make the most out of anything regardless of the circumstances. These seats would provide that extra comfort to keep their momentum for learning and improve upon their reading stamina. We are at a solid 15 minutes, but we are pushing for more!
