I am a first-year teacher in a New York City District 75 school. The class I am teaching is a 6:1:1, where all students have a classification of Autism. Through the use of these materials, I will be able to make a difference in our classroom. These books will allow me to use a teaching strategy based on an understanding of how students with autism are impacted through thinking, learning, and behaviors. My students love to read and to be read too. The books selected are based on their different reading levels. Together we can build up the classroom library to provide engagement and knowledge for my students.
