Sketchbooks are used in the art room for students to workout ideas and experiment with new techniques. Sketchbooks will allow my students to brainstorm and create their own work all in one place. Students will be able to visualize their thinking process. Before the pandemic, we made our own sketchbooks in class. Since my students are virtual, they can not make their sketchbooks in the classroom. The majority of my students do not have the finances to buy supplies to make their own sketchbook or to buy a sketchbook. Drawing pencils will allow my students to experiment with different types of lead. It will help them in the shading process where they can show dark and light areas on a drawing.
