Magazines are known to help all students, including those who are highly capable, be successful by providing them content that is differentiated, age-appropriate and engaging. When teaching my highly capable English Language Arts students this year, my goal is to keep them motivated and excited even from afar. I believe by providing them learning experiences through reading, watching videos that connect to the reading & completing critical thinking tasks, they will only desire more opportunities to learn. Therefore, due to this fact, a Junior Scholastic subscription online, for grades 6-8 would be a perfect resource for my students to keep engaged, in a time of isolation and unknown when learning about the world around us through a social studies lens.
