These books will help aid my students who have had their 1st grade year interrupted by COVID-19. I will be using these books as an interactive read-aloud with my whole class. Since the students may or may not be able to read these texts, I plan to use the books to engage the students in other strategic actions. For example, predicting, inferring, craft, and illustrations just to name a few of the possibilities we could use the books for. They will also give the students an opportunity to do careful thinking and talking with partners or groups about the books. As I am reading and using these book with my students it will be a vital, essential, and enjoyable part of our school day. My students won't have to worry about not knowing how to read certain books, because I will do that for them. My students need to see that we can do more with books than just read the words on the page. This is why it is so important to have read aloud books that we, as a class, can be interactive with and have great discussions about. These books can also be read to the student and we can have discussions during virtual learning if the time should come to that this school year.
