The families at our school were given the option of a hybrid format or all online learning during this time of pandemic. Many families chose the online option, and our school has checked out our existing supply of computers to those families. This leaves classrooms with no computers or similar technology to support students while they are in school. Using computers in school will support our hybrid format students by allowing them to practice on the technology they need to use to access their lessons on days they are at home. Working on a computer is not intuitive for children. Many of them have used only touch screen devices. They need to learn to use a mouse, keyboard and touch pad to be successful in an online learning format.
