I am a first-year first-grade teacher in a small rural area of Buckhannon, West Virginia. My students have been through so much this year with the COVID-19 Pandemic. We have been doing remote learning off and throughout the entire school year where we have been mostly remote. Many of them have faced challenges with learning from home due to a lack of internet access. My students are creative, fun, and love learning! They love being at school and doing hands-on engaging activities. First grade is a very important year where you learn to read and build a firm foundation for the rest of your educational experience. My students love to read and explore all different kinds of books. Being a first-year teacher, it has been expensive and difficult to provide my students with the reading library and supplies they need in our classroom. These resources for my classroom library will provide my students with an organized, inviting space that encourages them to read and fall in love with books. Thank you for considering our project!
