This year, my students are first and second graders. They are a great group of students and are eager learners. However, teaching a combo class has its challenges. My students receive on-grade-level instruction, so when they are not in a teacher-led lesson, they are working independently. Students have access to personalized lessons fro reading and math through our online component of our reading and math curriculum. By providing headphones, students are able to access those lessons without disrupting other students. Students also use our classroom library during their independent work. Our library has a variety of genres, reading levels, and topics. Students are able to find books that interest them and that they are able to read independently.
