It is wonderful to have so many books available to my students right in our classroom, and I've enjoyed watching them take more time to select \"just right\" books to read. Having the additional plastic tubs are exactly what I needed to share my collection with my students. \r\n\r\nAs for the stadium seats, those are a huge hit! There isn't one student who doesn't want to use them, and I think I may need to get a couple more. They're very durable and students love to read and relax in them. We have been able to have a class store with big and small prizes. We have been able to play with different games and toys and work through \"real-time\" emotions and frustrations. Due to the increased ability to practice our skills, we were also able to add in science experiments, especially ones that require a higher level of patience and understanding. \r\nSquigz are a favorite to play with. The suction cup doesn't always suction properly (user error or not) and it's always a great lesson to remember to breathe, ask for help if needed, and try again. My students also like the ability to use them on almost any surface in the classroom.\r\nPokemon cards in our store have been an ongoing hit. What I didn't expect was that these cards would create a \"club\" of sorts within the classroom. Students have learned how to ask to trade, deal with disappointment of getting a card they already have, wait patiently to be able to trade with someone, and even dealing with disappointment of not getting to get a trade they wanted.\r\nThis school year is no different. We are still utilizing our supplies and continuing our growth.","fullyFundedDate":1742950739932,"projectUrl":"project/building-empathy-and-resilience/8956378/","projectTitle":"Building Empathy and Resilience","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. M.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8079432_orig.jpg?crop=2053,2053,x262,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732579003514","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8079432"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41453","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":416,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":59,"percentIndigenous":6,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":45.1,"schoolId":41453,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Iditarod Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Iditarod Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alaska/mat-su-borough-school-district/iditarod-elementary-school/41453"}
