Over my past year of teaching, I have gained significant insight as to what tools and resources make me and my students the most successful. I have been keeping a list of some things that I know will assist me with classroom management, engagement, and content as I teach 4th grade science and social studies this 2020-2021 school year and many years to come. It's quite mind-blowing how some of the most simple things make such a huge impact in the classroom. One example is a set of buzzers that can be used in games (instead of me trying to guess which team raised their hand first) and transitions. Another item on my list is a set of sensory toys I use as prizes. Students go crazy over them AND they help them focus. That's a win-win. The point I am trying to make is that one simple thing can help a teacher and her students so incredibly much. And a list full of simple things... well, I bet you can only imagine.
