My first year teaching will definitely be one I will never forget as I will likely be teaching from my tiny bedroom at my house for at least part of the year. Given that my students will need to learn through video calls and recorded home videos, I want my bedroom to turn into a welcoming and supportive classroom environment as much as possible. I believe if I can evoke the feeling of being together in our classroom, my students will have a better chance at learning. The whiteboard easel included in this project will serve as a tool that I can use during video instruction to record student thoughts and ideas, create writing together, model math strategies, display anchor charts, and more. It will also be used in the future in my classroom during instruction on the carpet. The timer also included in this project will help me and my students monitor our time to make sure we are using it efficiently, which can be more challenging during remote learning.
