I am a new teacher, thus looking to start out my available manipulatives for my classroom. Cleaning supplies are a common need during this time and my class is no exception. However, I am focusing more on tools and materials that my students can use and then wipe down for the next class. I believe mathematics is best learned hands on and I am doing my best to create that learning environment safely! Post its and easel pads will allow my students to make big connections and share them from a safe distance. Plastic protractors and compasses will allow my students to sanitize the tools they will need to be hands on. My goal is to make in person instruction days different and more exciting - that way my students look forward to coming to class and are more likely to be engaged. These products will help me reduce the amount of time I do math in front of my students and increase the amount of time they spend doing the math themselves.
