Remote learning is so different from regular school. At school, our students had the ability to process their emotions with their counselor, social worker, and mentors skilled in SEL. During remote learning, many of my students actively engage in SEL discussions and check-ins, highlighting the importance of this area. Unfortunately, not all students have access to technology to engage. My goal is to provide students with guided journals that focus on mental health in a fun and engaging way. My students would enjoy having their own personal journals, as they have learned that it is okay to express their feelings in a healthy way. The journals will be distributed during scheduled food pick-ups and technology returns days.
