Sadly, a great number of our students fall into more than one of these categories: They are living in the epicenter of the Covid 19 crisis. They are hungry. They may be undocumented. Our students are trying hard to stay focused on remote learning. Unfortunately, some live in daily fear of whether their parents who must go out each day in order to earn money, will come home healthy or not. In addition to not knowing about their parents health, how they are going to make ends meet to make the rent, they are also hungry. So many of these students depended on the school breakfast and lunch as their meal for the day. Now they are home in order to keep safe making it difficult to receive food. Many will not receive a stimulus check since they are undocumented. All of these issues are something completely unexpected that they are now being faced with.
