These culturally responsive complex texts will help my students focus on raising their Lexile levels and using their time wisely. These texts will encourage each reader to consistently read independently and passionately in a way that honors books and continues to develop their love of reading. Students will feel empowered to choose complex texts that interest them and will deepen their commitment to learning and growth. My students understand the importance of reading everyday and will be even more excited about this sacred time because of these new texts they will have to grapple with.

About my class
