Any donations to my project will go towards wobble chairs, pencil fidgets, and other flexible seating options. Many of my students face different challenges that do not disappear when they walk into the classroom. These tools enable freedom of movement and offer therapeutic ways for them to release their energy and emotions in a non-disruptive way. Concentrating on school is often difficult for many of them due to various reasons beyond the students' control. It is also very difficult for my students to go outside and play due to the lack of equipment at the school as well as the concerns of safety in the area. Non-disruptive fidgets and seating tools can be used in many different ways to accommodate the various social-emotional behaviors of my classroom and can be used as rewards and incentives for positive behaviors. It also allows students the ability to learn in the way the works best for them, rather than the tradition of desks in rows. My students often have to deal with things way beyond their years, flexibility and fun in learning is essential for their success and engagement in school in addition to their growth as young citizens.
