The majority of my students have never left the city of San Antonio, much less traveled out of our state. It is difficult to explain how much of the world is outside of their own town. When we use maps in class, it is amazing to see how excited they get to discover other parts of the world. With this grant, I would love to purchase smaller desk-sized laminated maps so that they don't have to get out of their seats to look at the wall maps. These maps will have the United States on one side and views of the whole world on the opposite side.
