Thanks to you our class is geared up for gardening. There is much to learn and to grow. My students were beyond happy, once the materials began to arrive. The hydroponic growing system which we have just put together, is up and running. My students have studied about how plants grow and what is needed for them to survive. We will begin growing romaine lettuce, basil, and other vegetables in no time. Our classroom pets, Mary and Maria, will continue to eat lettuce, fresh from our gardening system! \r\n\r\nIn addition, our plants in our classroom are providing our students with the skills to nurture and care for plants. My students are learning how to be self-sustaining through gardening, planting, and nurturing. They are learning the ins and outs of growing our own food, as well as eating what you grow in order to create healthier habits. It is amazing how something as simple as gardening, can provide life-learning skills for my students. These resources enable them to be self-sufficient, caring, and healthy.
