As a first-year teacher, it is expensive to build up a considerable classroom library that includes a wide variety of books for every reader. My goal through this project is to reach my students who may be hesitant to explore the unknowns of the world outside of our small town.Teaching in a rural school, it can be hard to offer diverse curriculum to students who have not had much exposure to a diverse world. My goal is to bring diversity through independent reading options within the classroom library. I believe that giving students the ability to explore a diverse world, even though they may not have the resources to travel and experience true diversity right now, is of the utmost importance. As a teacher, it is our job to develop well-rounded, open-minded leaders for our future prosperity.
