Reading matters in high school but, even more importantly, it matters for the path students will take, be it college or if they decide to enter directly into the work force. The books that you help provide will help me to ignite a love for reading in high school students. We will cover and perfect all the District standards while at the same time introducing students to recent YA literature that speaks their language, that addresses the topics they live in their daily lives. The broader range of YA books I can have available to my students, the easier it will be for them to explore different authors, different genres and different story lines.
