One of the purposes of my Physical Education curriculum is to give students the ability to develop basic sports skills that they can use outside of the classroom. The equipment that I am requesting will allow students to learn and practice skills like throwing, catching, tracking, and kicking safely and without fear of injury. Right now, I have equipment that can facilitate the development of these skills. However, they are composed of either hard plastic or firm rubber. Instead, I am seeking yarn balls, soft 4" success balls, and multiple sized rhino skin dodgeballs (not for dodgeball). I am also requesting hula hoops for easy (and cheap) classroom containment of balls. I do not want children to prioritize the fear of getting hurt over the interest in learning. It is important that students feel comfort and security in the gym.
