Graphing Calculators give students a way to make connections from their learning to the use of technology. They can create more engagement with mathematical ideas and make connections to the real world of patterns and calculations. The use of the technology from students also let students make connections between various mathematical representations. The graphing calculators allow realism through the use of authentic data, which is important when they leave our classrooms. Additionally, when there is effective teaching with graphing calculators, students develop a better understanding of mathematical concepts, use higher-level approaches to solving math problems and do well on performance measures.
