English language learners benefit hugely from having real-to-life pictures and images to refer to when learning new vocabulary. Many English Language Learners come to class with little background information in Science, Social Studies and Language Arts. Real-life images help explain many details and basic information that U.S. born students already know. My goal is to close the gap between ELLs and native speakers in all instructional content areas for these students. My school has one color printer in the school; each teacher has to ask permission to have any color prints made for him/her, and they are limited. The English Language class is located in a trailer behind the school and quite far from the media center where the one color printer is located. Having a printer in the English Language class would be a tremendous help to our students! Your generosity would benefit not only the 90 students this year, but students in the following years. Thank you all for your support!
