If I had a printer in my classroom, my students could see their writing immediately in print to share with the class. They will learn that what they have to say is important and that their voice should be heard. They can also print the letters to the veterans more easily. A story is only as strong as the voice that tells it. I stress the power of writers is that their stories don't exist in the world until they write them down. Now I have to have 4-6 students at a time leave my class to go all the way across the school to print at the library. Sometimes it is closed or is being used by another class. The printers there have no option for color either. Many of their projects have to be printed at home if color is needed. Some students do not have printers at home.
