SawStop is the leader in table saw safety. The blade can detect contact with skin. It carries a small electrical signal, which the safety system continually monitors. When skin contacts the blade, the signal changes because the human body is conductive. The change to the signal activates the safety system and pulls the blade down and stops it within milliseconds. My students will master the use of a table saw, the required safety precautions and experience the application while remaining as safe as possible. We will use these materials for years to come. This project will reach 150+ students this year, however it will reach thousands in years to come. I love what I do, and the class being safe is the most important part of my job. The addition of this saw will completely transform what students are able to accomplish and experience.
