Having the opportunity to use real instruments with our movement time will help the students make connections with each other. We will need to share and take turns. This helps us make friends and be in the space together. Music is a way to help us make friends. We love to move and dance. Adding actual instruments to our time will help build confidence to try new things. This will help them with the basic idea of steady beat in the songs and it also helps to build the self-esteem that they need. The kids can practice on their own, get comfortable as they take turns and play with the other musicians. As they progress, they will be able to do team and independent work to build musicianship and to be able to practice socialization. We will be able to take these with us when we go to different areas of the school. The drum sets will play many roles in the program for the students. The microphone are so they can hear their own voice when they sing. This will give them such joy.
