Athletics can transform a students motivation in their academics by requiring students to be eligible. Without proper equipment, athletes can feel inferior to other schools. We had 60 athletes come out for basketball this year and we only have three rubber PE basketballs to use. Many of our athletes have worked harder than usual in the past couple weeks because they wanted to get their grades up for basketball season. With out basketball many of our athletes are not motivated to keep their grades up. Having decent basketballs can increase the confidence of the basketball players which can continue into their academics. Currently we have 3 rubber, PE basketballs to use for 60 athletes.
