A classroom is a place where all students should feel safe and comfortable. Having a large enough rug to fit all students will allow the entire class to feel warmth and comfort. It is a place for students to come together as a community to learn and share their knowledge. When students are able to put their minds together, anything is possible! Having a classroom carpet that is large enough will allow all students to feel equal. No one will have to be separated from the class and have to sit in desk chairs. During reading alouds, students will be in close contact with the reader, and their attention can easily be focused the book. Currently, I walk around the classroom holding the book, and children aren't able to see the pictures as well. We feel disconnected as a community because of the distance between us. Please consider helping this class, as well as my future classes to come. I've been teaching for 15 years and only have funds for smaller carpets. Please help make my dream a reality. Thank you!
