Breathe For Change is a social emotional wellness, mindfulness and yoga teacher training program designed for educators. As a School Counselor, I have experienced first hand the great need and deficit there is for wellness in our community. Teaching our students wellness skills will empower, and give them the life skills and tools they need to break the generational cycles and adverse effects of acute trauma they experience on a daily basis. Through my own personal mindfulness, yoga and mediation practice, I have learned the importance of wellness and how crucial it is to your well being and stamina as an educator. My vision and dream is to start a wellness program where I can directly teach educators how to implement social emotional learning, mindfulness and yoga in their classrooms. This will arm educators with the tools they need to empower themselves and their students. Through continuous wellness practices, the classroom can be transformed into a calm, engaging and conducive space for learning.
