Thank you!\r\n\r\nHow the technology helps learning\r\n\r\nClassroom headphones (18-pack): During reading and phonics, students listen to leveled audio books and short decodable lessons without distraction. In math, they watch 2-3 minute model videos at their own pace. The big win: I can run small groups while the rest of the class works independently with clear sound and fewer interruptions.\r\n\r\nThermal laminator + 200 laminating sheets: We're protecting picture-word cards, alphabet strips, and math \"toolkits\" (hundreds charts, ten-frames) so they last all year. Laminated calm-down visuals and routine cards also mean smoother transitions; kids point, read, and do.\r\n\r\nWhat students love most\r\n\r\nMagnetic tiles (123-piece set): Instant engagement! Students build \"then & now\" neighborhoods, label shapes, and test which roof designs are the strongest. We tie creations to writing by adding labels and short captions.\r\n\r\nSensory strips (120 pcs) & pencil grips: Quiet fidgets and better pencil posture have made a visible difference; more time on task and fewer \"my hand is tired\" moments.\r\n\r\nHalf pencils (144): Perfect for little hands and quick grab-and-go stations; no more long lines at the sharpener.\r\n\r\nWho has especially warmed to it\r\n\r\n\"A.\" used to avoid writing; with a pencil grip and a laminated sentence frame, she now finishes a full sentence.\r\n\r\n\"S.\" struggles to focus in noise; with headphones and a calm strip on her desk, she completes her lessons and joins group time with confidence.\r\n\r\n\"K.\" rarely spoke in class; when we introduced magnetic tiles, he became our \"design lead,\" explaining how his bridge works and helping others label parts.\r\n\r\nYour gift didn't just buy supplies, it changed routines, boosted independence, and gave my students tools that make learning feel joyful and doable. My students could hardly wait to open the boxes! The \"A Little SPOT of Feelings\" plush toys and book set immediately became the heart of our calming corner. Students use the plushies to express how they're feeling, and it has sparked some of the most thoughtful conversations about emotions, kindness, and compassion. One child even said, \"I can hold the blue one when I feel sad, and it helps me talk about it.\"\r\n\r\nThe Play-Doh and sensory discs have given my scholars new outlets for focus and creativity. During writing workshops, a few students squeeze sensory toys to calm their nerves before sharing aloud, while others build imaginative creations with Play-Doh during free choice. These tools have become small but powerful ways for students to regulate emotions and stay engaged in learning.\r\n\r\nAcademically, the counting bears and number line dry-erase boards have transformed math time into a hands-on experience. We've already used them for sorting, comparing, and building number sentences. Seeing students eagerly grab a number line to solve a problem shows how much more confident they feel with tangible supports.\r\n\r\nThe treasure chest prizes, squishies, and slap bracelets have been a huge motivator! Students are working hard to earn them by showing kindness, effort, and perseverance. The first time I revealed the treasure box, the room filled with cheers; it has turned classroom management into something joyful and rewarding.\r\n\r\nEven the surge protector made a difference. It allows us to keep multiple devices charged and ready for interactive lessons, which means less downtime and more learning.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students now have tools that support both their academic growth and social-emotional well-being. These resources make our classroom feel more supportive, fun, and engaging every single day. The next step for my scholars is to keep using these materials in ongoing projects like building math stories with counting bears and practicing emotional literacy with our feelings plushies.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you for giving my students the chance to learn, play, and grow in such meaningful ways.","fullyFundedDate":1757607136592,"projectUrl":"project/building-bright-minds-and-big-hearts-in/9495139/","projectTitle":"Building Bright Minds and Big Hearts in First Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Noeli","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9842944_orig.png?crop=271,271,x0,y82&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737147982260","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9842944"},{"teacherId":9701395,"projectId":9109710,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible support, our classroom now feels more organized, productive, and exciting! When the new materials — privacy folders, sharpeners, pencils, and erasers — arrived, the students were beyond thrilled. Their eyes widened, and you could hear the buzz of excitement as they realized these tools were just for them.\r\n\r\nWe immediately put the materials to use. Each student decorated their privacy folder, turning it into a personal space where they can focus during independent reading and writing time. Having their own folders has helped many students stay more engaged and confident, especially during tasks that require concentration. One memorable moment was seeing a student who usually feels overwhelmed during writing assignments proudly work through an entire story draft without distractions — all thanks to the comfort and focus the folder provided.\r\n\r\nThe sharpeners, pencils, and erasers have also made a huge difference. No more lost learning time asking for sharpened pencils or searching for an eraser! Students feel more responsible and prepared, which has made transitions between activities smoother and quicker.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we are diving deeper into independent writing projects where students will draft, revise, and publish their own short stories. The privacy folders will continue to help students focus, while the sharpeners, pencils, and erasers make it easy for them to work independently and take pride in their creations.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving our classroom the tools to build confidence, independence, and a love for learning. It's become the heart of our classroom—where we gather for morning meetings, storytime, group discussions, and collaborative learning. Their eyes lit up with excitement, and they couldn't wait to dive in. We recently used these resources for our \"Help Us Learn about Lunar New Year!\" project.
