MacBook Pro will allow me faster access to more reliable programs and information than I currently have access to. My current computer is somewhere between 10 and 15 years old and it's reliability is haphazard at best. There are times when it simply does not have the capacity to run the program that my students or I need to access and use. Many times I use my computer with my smart board so that the students can view various assignments from math, science, reading, etc. in real time. As we go through the problems or exercises together I give the students an explanation or have the students come up and give their own explanations to the class allowing participation from them encouraging student engagement and ownership of their own learning. This type of learning has been proven very effective in my classroom.
