Having comfy pillows will give the students a different experience when we are working in small groups. Working with the teacher in a small group is a time for the students to feel free to ask questions. At times this is hard to do because the groups around also need time to share. Having the comfy pillows gives students an opportunity to work in small group with the teacher away from the other groups. It makes it a relaxing time, where they can be comfortable and get their work done. It also provides them with an alternative to having to sit at their desk when they are reading independently. We all enjoy being comfortable when we read and it will let them appreciate the book more. The use of whiteboards is essential when checking in with the students. Using the whiteboards helps them to make sure they are understanding the topic. They will be used during English Language Arts to work on our spelling as well as used during math time to work on equations to build their skills and not waste paper. The whiteboards will also be a good support when working in a small group setting.
